Night Sweats
When you experience hot flashes at night that disturb your sleep, they are called “night sweats.” Night sweats may cause you to wake up several times to throw off the covers and then later to reach for the blankets because you’re freezing cold. iii
Night sweats can disrupt your ability to get a good night’s sleep so predictably it is not uncommon to feel tired, fatigued or irritable the next day. iii Here are a few tips:
- Before you go to sleep, make sure that the heat in your bedroom is not too high
- Crack open the bedroom window and let in some cool, fresh air
- Make the bed in loose layers, so you can adjust your heat level before falling asleep
